Andrew Broussard’s Signature “Moon Child” Series is now available. It is a 3-Part series but the V4 SCS was not completed in time and we cannot wait any longer to release what is complete.
The Wheel depicts Yosemite Valley from the Tunnel View with El Capitan to the left, Half Dome at center and Glacier point to the right; where Andrew grew up camping with his family under the night sky; the constellation Orion, a tribute to the first generation of TDI; and his iconic PROTO Alien lowering TDI from the stars to Earth. He believes we are all Alien Technology making everything we create a byproduct of Alien Technology, including PROTO.
These gold full cores began life as the PROTO 10-Year Anniversary wheel in 2018 but were not completed in time for the Anniversary due to circumstances beyond our control. After that there was really no appropriate reuse for these cores… aside from a re-release of the Andrew Broussard Sigs. Andrew was hesitant for years about using these cores for this purpose because he spends exponentially more time manufacturing scooter parts on the Factory Floor than he does riding them and historically signature parts are reserved for elite, actively performing, riders. That was, until he came to the realization that he is an artist, scootering is his medium and he will sign his work.
The bars were completed in 2020 to match the planned wheels but the set still felt incomplete and without a cohesive theme so it was back burnered again while we began building out our machine shop. Once we were machining in house and development on the V3 SCS began, Andrew quickly envisioned a V4 that would be the perfect piece to complete this set and theme. Once it was decided, final drafts of artwork began taking shape. Between building a factory, building tooling, maintaining equipment, developing new products and running production to try our best to keep products in stock, this project has always been an afterthought. Stay tuned for Part 3, hopefully it won’t take as long as the other parts of the series.
